SharePoint Solutions 2013

Since its launch, SharePoint 2013 has been touted as one of Microsoft’s biggest releases ever. That’s great for new users, but what about its cousin version – SharePoint 2010, which most people have embraced and appreciated? Is SharePoint 2013 better than SharePoint 2010? Is it time for an upgrade? Read on, you’ll find the answers.

Recently, we got a chance to review SharePoint 2013. After having reviewed it, we unearthed some really interesting points about SharePoint 2013. We’d like to discuss it in this post:

One great thing about SharePoint 2013 is, it brings to the table some wonderful features of SharePoint 2010, plus some exciting extras too. The following are the existing features that have been retained from SharePoint 2010: Access Services, Search Services, Excel Services, User Profile Service, Performance Point Services, InfoPath Forms Services, and Business Connectivity Services.

We are sure these are the features you’d have liked in SharePoint 2010, but just imagine – your most-liked features getting some bang-up upgrades in terms of functionality and usability. That is what SharePoint 2013 promises. For instance, there is an enhanced analytics service which lets users create and maintain custom reporting – imagine this feature spreading to the mobile and tablet devices. This is our speculation, by the way but is more likely to happen in the near term.

The expanded services are top class – there is a bunch of expansion, which includes Education Services, Translation Services, Work Management Service, Content Management Service, Workflow Services, and more.

Honestly, we felt a feature like SharePoint Education could be a pretty handy component for people in the education industry. And there are some great check-outs for people in the other sectors as well.

Our Verdict: If you are looking for the best of SharePoint solutions, you got to have SharePoint 2013!

SharePoint Services and SharePoint Application Development by Saviance Technologies

SharePoint services, more notably the latest SharePoint Server 2013 is great, simply because it offers comprehensive solutions to all your information maintenance needs under one roof. Well, who wouldn’t like to have a service that lets users create, translate, and maintain content in different domains in the internet and intranet space? That is what the SharePoint Server 2013 lets you do! And the best part is, you can now build your own app solution without causing any negative impact on your existing hosted model. This is made possible by the SharePoint App.

Basically, there are three SharePoint application development models:

• SharePoint-hosted
• Self-Hosted
• Azure Web App

SharePoint-Hosted App
Here is an app exclusively which can effectively handle the inactive files in your site. Just incorporate this app in your site; it will segregate the files in different domains. Of course, the distribution will be more focussed on areas where your app resides. When a user accesses your app, he or she will be redirected to a page where the App can be used. The SharePoint-Hosted App is good, mainly because it doesn’t require any server coding.

Self-Hosted App
This app moves your files to an external server. So, users who are trying to access your app will be redirected to a page on the external server, where your app resides. You can run custom codes, but it can be done only on the external server.

One thing you’ll love about this app is that, it doesn’t need a Windows server. Plus it comes with controlled upgrading options.

Azure Web App
Just like the Self-hosted app, the Azure Web App too can be hosted in an external server. It also gives you the option to run custom code. One reason why this app is different from its counterparts is because; users who try to gain access to your app will be redirected to Azure which is a premium service. Apart from the cost, this app has more capabilities and flexibilities.
